Chateau Souverain
1999 Alexander Valley Merlot
92 Points Wine Spectator
Sale Price $14.99
WINEMAKER'S NOTES
This Merlot has aromas of plum, black currant and a hint of
cedar and brown spice that comes from aging in French oak
barrels. The tannins are round and soft, and gently frame a
concentrated flavor profile of blackberries, plums and sweet
oak. This Merlot, blended with the two Cabernets, is very
ripe, well-structured and will age quite nicely.

1997
Stonestreet Merlot
Sale Price $29.99
"Although
relatively warm, 1997 was another excellent year in the Merlot
vineyards of the southern Alexander Valley. Alexander Mountain
Estate vineyards provided an additional source of superb Merlot,
rich and dark in color and berry flavors. Cabernet Sauvignon from
Legacy vineyard provided added structure and complexity to the
cherry and dark berry notes, with hints of chocolate, coffee and
well-integrated oak."
